Week 18 of first grade

Monday, January 11, 2021 - Friday, January 15, 2021 In ELA we will begin Journey's Lesson 13 and read the nonfiction text, Seasons. We will learn and practice spelling, reading and saying words with the digraphs sh, wh and ph. We will be able to identify and write contractions with the words is and not. In Math we will end module 2. Students should be able to add and subtract within 20 and be able to RDW (read, draw and write) to solve addition and subtraction word problems. In Science we will continue to talk about light. We will also talk about the four seasons and how the weather changes. In Social Studies we will be talking about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and what makes him an American hero.
