KUD

Knowledge goals include the facts and “generally accepted” definitions and elements of a topic or concept -- facts need to be “‘unpacked" in order for students to show their understanding. Understanding goals are “full-sentence insights, driven by essential questions” (Doubet & Hockett, 2018, p. 50). Full-sentence statements of understanding should be your appropriate response to questions about why this is important to learn. The Do (skills) goals indicate how students will demonstrate their understanding and knowledge.
