A reflection of architecture's greatness.

Hello, my name is Salma Rosheidat and I am in 10B today I will be talking about my personal project. The personal project is an essential subject that is a part of the IB Middle Years Program cycle, where my goal is “to create an informative application reflecting different aspects of architecture, that is highly influenced by culture, personal interest and time. In specific, time has a great impact through the development of technology within, affecting the style and ideas of architects from different spaces”. I have always had an interest in product and digital design, in addition to architecture. Out of my three interests, I find a passion in architecture the most because it is an opportunity to express one’s personal background through the unique style that they own, shown through their interest within the smallest details provided in the elements of architecture ( varying from structure, material, to color and shape). In fact, I find architecture a highly effective form of art because it gives the ability to express our earth’s landscape, using the elements we are provided with in nature. What makes architecture even more interesting, is the way it develops with the influence of technology, style and cultural adjustment. I find the personal project a golden opportunity to make a connection between the beauty of architecture, and a challenging way to express it through a product. As my product is not only beneficial for my own interest, it is also beneficial for high school and college students who are interested to explore such a topic from different angles. I had a project related to architecture, where through the process of designing my own home according to the design goal, I researched the different ways architecture is expressed from one architect to another, which made me curious about what aspects impact an architect's style. After research, I came to a conclusion that the most effective aspects that impact style vary from one’s culture, personal interests, and how developed technology is to influence the most popular elements in architecture. In specific, I realized how influential time is when it comes to architecture, because it introduces new elements coming from nature, that can be beneficial and aesthetically impactful. My goal is highly challenging because I had minimal experience with architecture, and I've never created an application on my own. To gain knowledge and experience, I communicated with my aunt, who works as an architect and has significant information about the concept of architecture. My aunt helped me to overcome challenges, as she also helped me gain knowledge about the mindset of a good architect. However, I am prioritizing my research about creating an application since it is not only challenging, but personally out of my interest in digital design as previously mentioned, this is one thing I have always avoided, which is the reason I linked it with my passion is to learn it with less fear. Despite architecture being a passion for me, I also find it challenging to link it with the creation of an application, since there are many features that I should be considering, but in specific, I find creativity a challenge because I do not want to include the basic elements of architecture within the application, so I made it even more challenging yet creative, to explore architecture through different spaces and time.
