This tweet by NAGC provides an article that discusses gifted and talented students and the importance of their social and emotional skills. Gifted and talented students each have their own personal struggles that he or she face often. Such as getting into college or the challenges of being a gifted student. This article gives a couple of strategies that, I as an educator, can take into effect inside of my classroom for your children. One creative strategy is improvisation, or role playing. This activity is a form of drama where the students are instructed by a leader to act out, imagine, reflect on human experiences. This strategy provides students the opportunity to practice social and emotional skills, and I can also add technology to this strategy aswell. This activity can be used in any grade area and can be very beneficial as it covers thinking, problem-solving, imagination, and technology usage. This will help your children develop self-control, strengthen your child's self-confidence in both performing and speaking, and will enhance their knowledge and understanding. An example of this activity that is provided in the article is to have the students listen for a few days to their neighbors, classmates, or family’s complaints and problems and list them. The teacher will then gather all of the lists and guide the students to classify the situations and sort them from the most frequent, to the most important. The students are then asked to create something to resolve the problem and create a scene in which these situations are solved. The students can perform this activity by even using technology. For example, to create this scene, the students may create the scene by recording it and making a “movie.”
