Fitness Experiment: Buffalo, NY

The aim is to take on 1 person every year and help them achieve their personal health and fitness goals. Done on a purely voluntary basis, I dedicate a lot of time and effort into the training regime/development of this 1 person, who forms the basis of my case study. This has helped me understand and study the mechanisms and reactions of the human body to external stimuli, i.e. varying degrees of dietary and training exertions applied on an athlete.

Case study -1

Daniel Ten Damme: semi-professional motorcross rider in Amsterdam

Successfully helped develop and integrate functional speed and strength mechanisms into his movement patterns. Put him through multiple 8 week cycles, that progressively improved his movement patterns and musculature. The project was a success, helping the athlete transition from the average male body fat levels (16-20%) to an elite athlete level (below 10%). This saw a steady increase in performance efficiency and effectiveness, due to the superior strength to body mass ratio developed as a result of the integration of various compound movements: squats, deadlifts, etc. and functional work (tyre flips, 100m sprints and rowing machine ROMs), which translated to improved performances at the race track.
