Creating Collections of Learning

Once you have created your designated Wakelet Space for recording your professional learning, the next step is to design collections in which to house evidences of learning. These collections can be created in this Space in order gather notes, resources, accomplishments and more. Creating specific types of collections in this professional learning Space will be helpful for documenting your growth.
Types of Professional Learning Collections

I recommend creating several different types of collections within your Professional Learning Space.  Here are a few of my recommendations:
Professional Development Goal Collection- This type of collection should be the backbone and driving force for all of your professional development endeavors. There is a Wakelet Template for this type of collection that focuses on determining learning goals, deciding how you'll measure them, focusing on a timeline for completion, reflecting on learning, and celebrating successes. Setting these goals will ensure your professional learning Wakelet Space is purposeful for you.
Conference-Specific Collections- These collections are used when attending conferences. It is a great place to take notes on conference keynotes, add links to resources and presentations, and also a wonderful way to reflect on your learning after the conference has ended. Creating a collection from each conference provides a wonderful opportunity to look back at learning over time, as well. These can also be shared with others to share your learning or crowdsource learning from sessions you were unable to attend. 
Workshop Session Takeaways Collections- This Wakelet Template can be used to record notes from a session, link to resources and presentations, gather ideas, and reflect on the session's impact on your current role. These can be used as sub collections within a conference collection for additional organization. They can also be used for attending professional development and training sessions that are not part of a larger conference or event. 
Professional Portfolio Collection- This type of collection can be shared as needed as a documentation for professional achievements. (More ideas on this collection type in the next session!)
