The original Call of Duty: Black Ops debuted 10 years ago this year in 2007. The game, whose name was inspired by the term code name, is considered to be a breakout success for the Call of Duty franchise. In total, Black Ops has shipped more than 100 million copies since its release, and remains the series' best-selling game to this day.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is offering a return to the series' roots. The game is set in a futuristic world, where the events of the original Black Ops still hold true in a future where technology has advanced.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will feature a 5-on-5 multiplayer mode, a mode that has been the center of much of the Call of Duty franchise since the release of Black Ops.
Among the new modes are Team Deathmatch, Assault and Gun Game. In Team Deathmatch, players will be split into two teams, with the objective being to kill each other's teammates as quickly as possible to win.
In Assault, players work as a team, protecting VIPs as they take out an opposing team, until the VIP dies. The objective of the Gun Game mode is to shoot a helicopter with a rocket launcher in a two-minute match.
