We then want to understand an update on the technology. The authors, researchers from the nanotechnology company Neuralink, provide an update and demo of their new Neuralink product. Elon Musk, the owner of Neuralink, describes how the purpose of Neuralink is to solve important brain and spine problems with a seamlessly implanted device. Musk then continues to explain the architecture of the device which is very small, simple, easily implanted, and highly efficient. Then through a demonstration of demos, Musks shows through three different pigs how the device is safe and works well inside of living things. He demonstrates one pig without the device to have for comparison. He then shows a pig that previously had the device inside of the brain but then had the chip removed to convey how there was no damage with the removal of the chip or lasting effects. Then lastly he presents the pig with a Neuralink chip inside of its brain that portrays how the pig is still healthy and happy. This demonstration shows how the chip is safe and effective inside of a living thing. Musk explains through this demonstration how he is not only advertising to the medical community but to the general public. This piece of research allows us to understand how the Neurolink company has aspirations to present and sell this piece of technology to the common society.
