The focus of this theme is about the importance of acknowledging that everyone needs time to reconnect and rebuild relationships. Relationships are at the heart of creating environments which support good mental health and wellbeing for our children and young people. The nurture principles offer us a rich perspective on how we can create restorative experiences for learners whose wellbeing has been affected by trauma, loss and change. It is important to be mindful of Article 12 of the United Nations Convention (UNCRC) on the Rights of the Child which emphasises the right of children to have their voices heard and have their views respected in all matters affecting them. There has never been a more important time for our children to have a voice as we enable them to recover.
