There are two railway stations in Glasgow City Centre. These are Glasgow Central and Glasgow Queen Street. Glasgow Central serves routes across Scotland but mainly from Glasgow, south to the rest of the UK in comparison to Queen Street that mainly serves north of Glasgow up in to the highlands of Scotland.
Travelers can travel from London Euston up to Glasgow Central the journey takes approximately 4 hours 50 minutes. Trains depart Euston every 40 minutes and make their way to Central Station. This service is ran by a few operators but the main one being Avanti West Coast. The price for this service varies from week to week depending on the time of year but the average price per ticket for this journey is between £80-100 for a single fare.
Travelers can also make their way from any destination in England to Glasgow Central with Cross country, they make their way to Glasgow from as far south as Cornwall. On average this service takes 12 hours, it offers a day service for example, 6 am to 6pm but also a service that runs through the night for example 11pm to 11am.  This service is one of the longest services that comes into Glasgow Central and this is reflected in the price as it is around £260 for a single fare, depending on whether its peak or off peak travelling time.
Glasgow Queen Street's main services run east and north of Glasgow, one of them being services that leave Edinburgh Waverly making their way to Glasgow this journey takes roughly about an hour and departs Waverly every 15 minutes heading for Glasgow. This journey cost approximately £13 for a single fare.
Another service that runs North of Glasgow Queen Street is from Aberdeen. This service takes roughly 3 and a half hours. The service departs Aberdeen every hour throughout the day and costs on average £40 for a single fare. Both of the journeys mentioned above making their way to Glasgow Queen Street are ran by Scotrail - which is operated by a Dutch company called Abellio.
