My name is Dina al Habash and I am a 10th grade student in the Ahliyyah and Mutran School. 
For my personal project, I chose to create several artworks using acrylic paint and canvas representing two topics that I am personally interested in, which were trauma and dissociative identity disorder (DID). My goal is to raise awareness through artworks that I will create to inform people about two topics that people do not speak about often, which are trauma and dissociate identity disorder (DID). I chose this goal because it relates two of my personal interests which are art and mental health or psychology. 
The global context I chose for my personal project was personal and cultural expression because I created artworks to express personal feelings of the people that struggle with effects of trauma or dissociative identity disorder. Furthermore, I chose this global context because it will help me discover and express ideas creatively artistically. In addition, I chose globalization and sustainability because usually, people do not know a lot about dissociative identity disorder or trauma, therefore it is important to educate and spread awareness in order to educate people well about the topics.
The personal project impacted me by helping me educate myself more on the psychology of trauma and dissociative identity disorder, and also improved my creative thinking skills as well as my art skills which I used to create the artworks. During the process, I faced many challenges such as expressing the ideas through art, as I do not have experience in either topic and due to covid-19, contacting a person who does experience them was difficult. It was difficult to portray trauma effectively due to the fact that it branches into many ideas so the idea of ‘trauma’ alone cannot be portrayed into a single artwork. 
I applied multiple creative thinking skills into my project during the development of my product, as I created original works and ideas; as well as used existing works and ideas in new ways by researching previous works or ideas related to my topics, trauma, and dissociative identity disorder, and used the existing works as an inspiration to create my own original works. In addition, I applied existing knowledge to generate new ideas, products, or processes. To apply this skill, I used previous knowledge from my intensive research on trauma and dissociative identity disorder in order to produce ideas which are developed into paintings.
