The Reason Why...
Fall of 2020, whenever school starts, a brand new chapter in my career will start, one that I have been dreaming of since grade school. I have always known that libraries were magical and that librarians must have a ring of keys that could open doors both visible and unseen.  I have Mrs Ruth Feiker to thank for this deeply held belief.  She was my elementary school librarian.  To this day I know that she could talk to the books and more importantly that they whispered back to her...I remember hearing them in that most wonderful place - the school library.  She had the most powerful ability to put the just right book into each kids hand with a wink and a nod.  She wasn't prone to bubbly overtones, but when you came back with the proclamation "Mrs. Feiker, that was the best book ever!" she would allow a smile to cross her face....and repeat the process again for you.  
The thought that I have been afforded the priviledge of doing the same for students 5-11 years old makes me so excited.   To share the one simple yet greatest power in education, the love of reading and learning in the most spectacular place in the school.  How lucky can one person be?  So this is the why for my Wakelet - it's not necessarily high-minded or revolutionary.  No, quite the contrary, it is a very personal quiet and humble collection of things I hope to provide and share with students in this next new journey.
