It is an occupation aimed at protecting, promoting and restoring good health with a focus on identifying, diagnosing and treating illnesses using scientific and highly specialized knowledge. An occupation where caring for the patients is the first concern and the following principles are applicable:
Scientific knowledge has to be instigated, used and transmitted.
Permanent evolution is used to improve service.
Knowledge gets used in an ethical and competent manner.
Medical practice is always aimed at improving the health needs and providing wellbeing at communities and their individuals.
The man powers like pharmacist, ophthalmologist, nurse, physiotherapist, dentists, MBBS doctors etc. are some of the major professions in the medical sector. A short description about these professions and professionals are discussed below:
A. Pharmacy and Pharmacist:
	 Pharmacy  is the art, practice, or profession of preparing, preserving, compounding, and dispensing medical drugs. Those willing to adopt this profession have to study medicinal science and pass the required level. The manpower who are involved in pharmacy are called pharmacist.
Pharmacists provide the advices regarding the methods of the proper use and effectiveness of medicines. They give medicines to the patients according to the doctor's prescription. 
Pharmacy is studies at two levels in Nepal dividing into Diploma and Bachelor level. One has to pass SEE with B+ to study Diploma in Pharmacy. After the completion of Diploma in Pharmacy, a person can get admission in Bachelor level of Pharmacy.
Importance :
Pharmacists provide us medicines and guide us the proper way of using medicines.
Pharmacists empower patients by helping them tackle illness and boosting their confidence.
They impart knowledge, they motivate, they help patients to help themselves. 
Pharmacists are the first port of call in a health crisis, and sometimes even saves lives.
