Homelessness affects so many lives. I think as a teacher it is important to understand and know the signs of homelessness. If a teacher is able to identify this, then they may be able to help the student better perform in school and/or allow for more time to complete assignments in the school setting rather than after school. A student who is homeless might have trouble socially or feel embarrassed talking about their home life with friends. I think that it is important for teachers to help students who are homeless in any way that they can. Teachers should make sure that all students at school feel confident, safe, and can be successful. -BW
