Overall, I feel my final fits the lively bold style wanted for the children’s book well, as its very bright and has a lot of movement. Although I feel my character could maybe fit the age group more, however reflecting on my time as a 12-year-old I would still be interested in the style. Upon creating the background, I felt my second character rough would fit the illustration more so that’s the one I went with and looking at it now I would like it to stand out more (perhaps contrasting colours). I struggled with keeping a consistent colour pallet as there are so many elements to consider however I think I achieved one that works well. My research stages took a lot of time which combined with my busy holiday resulted in my project getting pushed back, something I’m not proud of and will try improving on as it’s been a consistent issue for me. However, during this I found having a physical copy of my schedule works better than a digital one. During the research stages I found new activities like the writing and going out to take my own research photos and drawings, these new tasks I feel overall helped the project massively and will be something to consider for the future. Looking at my final I feel a connection and think it reflects key elements from my childhood growing up in Scotland. (236 words)
