In Garage - the programming on the website sets each child the next few facts that they need to learn. They need to score 20 in 1 minute (or 60 in 3 minutes) to move from that level to the next level. You dont get to choose which tables to practise, its a fixed journey through the facts. This is where your child should be playing if they are still learning their tables. Change the play time by clicking the dropdown arrow below the Mode icon in the centre of the menu bar - if they score 20 in a minute, this will reduce the time it takes to get to the next Gig. The levels are deliberately and very carefully planned in small steps so that the child is learning and over-learning as they play. It works through the times table and division facts (including missing number questions) in a strict order of 10, 2, 5, 3, 4, 8, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12. Mrs Sutcliffes Top Tip!The facts to be practised come up below the menu bar. Its worth stopping to look at them - even working out the answers - before your child clicks on continue. I love this game so much!! It always helps me on my Times Tables because I always practise and at school I get to play on it too! There is one problem though. I always thought its only times tables but theres actually division in it. I always the multiplication version of the division question. Can you try and get rid of the division out of the game please because I always struggle on my division, Hard! But dont worry Im still good on studio. My best score on studio is 67! The Stages could be like Burning, Blaze, Magma, Acid, Lava, and Heatwave! The higher your level the more dragon accessories you can access in the shop! Also you can choose the power of your dragon! You could either have a Frost Dragon, Fire Dragon, Life Dragon, Water Dragon, or Shadow Dragon! TT Rock Stars calculates the mean response time from their last 10 games in the Studio and translates that time into a Rock Status.If you dont play in the Studio you dont get a Rock Status.Players earn 1 coin per question and the Studio is the place for them to set their best time across all the tables. SoundcheckWhen you play Soundcheck, you get 25 questions each with a 6-second time limit. The questions are multiplication only and evenly weighted in terms of difficulty each time you play. Players earn 5 coins per correct answer. Multiplayer Rock ArenaThe Arena allows players to compete against all other members of their Band (their Bandmates would need to join the same game in order to compete together).A new Arena game starts every 15 seconds and once the clock starts they race to answer more questions than the others. In the Arena, questions will only come from the times tables the teacher has set for the week, similar to the Garage. They earn 1 coin per correct answer. Rock FestivalThe Rock Festival games are open to players from around the world. Like the Arena, there is no limit to the number of players who can join a game; however, unlike the Arena, questions are selected at random from 1×1 to 12×12.Pupils might choose the Rock Festival if they were playing at home (and therefore couldnt easily synchronise playing against a classmate) or wanted to compete against others not in their Band. They earn 1 coin per correct answer.Rock StatusWhen a child has played ten games in the studio, he or she will be given a rock status which will change as he or she improves in speed AND accuracy.In class, the rock status will be set through the paper quizzes in class each week.
