DESCRIPTION: During the 1980's, computers were implemented and accepted in schools and became a widespread. However, technology was used in some elementary and high-schools as early as 1965. The high schools and elementary schools were using mainframes and mini computers. In the "The Evolution of Technology in The Classroom," the article mentions how technology has always been important in human education – whether that’s at the grade school level or the collegiate level – it has and will always remain important in education. The article goes on and talks about the first technology devices that were applied in schools. Throughout the years, the projector, videotapes, photocopiers, etc. were introduced before the computers. Furthermore, the article continues to talk about the future of technology in classrooms and what that looks like now. Currently, society as a whole is going through the global pandemic known as COVID-19. Due to this, students have been in classrooms less and have been working on either a tablet or a computer to complete their assignments or to communicate with their professor. Technology in the classroom has increased significantly and has allowed more students, teachers, and administrators to become more tech-savvy. Technology is constantly evolving and it is a key for student success. It allows for all students to reap the different benefits, such as creativity, productivity, inclusion, etc. The article highlights the importance of technology and how technology will continuously evolve in the future and how we as a society should continue applying the different devices for student success.
