Baszucki and Maron also recruited two of their friends, Ryan "Wybowser" Larkin and Joseph "Pzarek" Gaydos, and together they started building the game Tiny Tower, which was another clone of a popular game called Tiny Tower.
In 2005, Roblox's revenue was $10 million, and the business rapidly grew in 2006. Around the same time, Microsoft acquired the online game developer Wetstone Studios, which included Wetstone's Roblox codebase. Shortly afterward, Microsoft started talking with Roblox about the possibility of Microsoft Windows versions of the games that were being made on Roblox, as well as porting the games to Windows and Windows Phone.
For business reasons, Roblox entered into negotiations to buy the company Texas Digital Corporation. Texas Digital was a video game developer that made online games for several platforms. An agreement was not reached. However, while in talks with Texas Digital, they learned of another technology company, Virtual Toys, that had developed a proprietary toy-like computer designed to be used by adults to program educational and entertaining computer games. The games could then be played by children using the computer's on-screen keyboard and mouse.
