iGen is a very interesting book that helped me gain a new perspective on my generation, and our addiction to devices. Jean Twenge dives into the affects that our phones are having on us, and how unprepared we are for adulthood. 
iGen is anyone born after 1995 that grew up with cell phones, and don't remember a time before the internet. In the book, Twenge states that the "average teen checks their phone more than eighty times a day".
I'll admit I used to be one of those people, my phone was constantly in my hand or pocket, and I was always checking it. This habit took me out of the present, and took over a lot of my life. Cell phones and social media are a serious issue in society, and according to a fall 2015 survey from the book: "two out of three US teens owned an iPhone". That was in 2015, and the numbers have only continued to grow. Teen suicide and depression rates have skyrocketed since 2011, the worst mental health crisis in decades.
