Greetings parents,

The students are off and running with their studies. Everyone seems to be settling into routines and it is great to see the learning taking place. I, personally, am really enjoying my Grade 1-4 literacy intervention group. We are reading a most enjoyable book and I am seeing many literacy skills improving including fluency, accuracy, and comprehension along with an improved understanding books in general. When you read with your son / daughter, ask them questions such as how does this relate to their life? Questions like this use the reading comprehension of "making connections." As a staff, we are excited about the literacy program being created at our school.
