Once in a blue moon you come across a recipe that is so simple yet so versatile that it changes your mind. This 5 minute pizza dough is one of those recipes. - Wait! you say Its pizza dough. Okay, its 5 minute pizza dough, but whats so special about it? Its pizza dough, right? Yes. And at the same time a clear and convincing no. Yes, its a great pizza dough recipe that makes amazing, chewy pizza with a crunchy bite, but its not just limited to cakes. Without any modifications, it can be the heart of an insanely good calzone, hot pocket or cheese bread. Let the dough rise a bit and the focaccia will be amazingly good and after a while it will make a damn awesome ciabatta, my favorite burger bun substitute. If left to rise overnight in the fridge, its perfect for breadsticks or garlic knots or… well, you get the idea. One cake to rule them all. Exactly. And it only takes about 5 minutes to assemble. No blender. No special tools. Heck, you dont even need a measuring cup. (No little people or mythical animals.) What more could you ask for? Take bread flour (or good old all-purpose, either works here), honey, yeast, warm water, salt and olive oil (measurements below). Prepare them all, it wont take much time. Now make a ball or two or as many as you want, clear the counter and grab your pizza toppings because youre done. All you have to do now is roll out and cook at 450 degrees Fahrenheit (230 C, gas 8) for about 8 minutes on a pizza stone. Yes. That is all. If you want to save this dough for later (and you should, yes, you should!), just brush it with olive oil and put it in a resealable bag.
