CURRENCY/ TIMELINESS:
Is currency important for your topic? The topic is important to me because I will be moving to a Kindergarten classroom this upcoming school year and would like some helpful tips for guided reading. 
Is it a science, technology, or health-related topic? No it is not a science, technology, or health-related topic.
When was the Web page originally published, last updated or revised? From what I can gather, this was created in 2017. 
Are all of the links on the page functional? Can you determine if there is new information on the page? Yes the links on the page work. This website is a blog that seems to be updated quite regularly. 
 
REVELANCE/ COVERAGE OF THE TOPIC: 
The information is helpful, but it is not strategies, rather materials the organization has created and are promoting. 
How on-topic is it? While the information is on topic, I have no idea how creditable the materials may be or how well it would align with my school’s standards/ curriculum.
Can you find the same or better information in another source? I feel that I could more reliable information from a more creditable source. 
Is it the type of information needed? (i.e. background, detailed history, statistics, primary source) Yes. I think the information mentioned is information that teachers could find useful when carrying out guided reading. 
 Is there enough information or do you need to find additional information on your topic? I need to find additional information on my topic. 
AUTHORITY: 
Who is responsibility for the information on the page (the author, creator, sponsor?) The author of this particular post is Tara West.
Are there any author credentials given? Can you determine the author’s age, level of expertise, etc. Are they experts on the subject? The author is an elementary school teacher. She creates content for the Little Minds at Work blog/website. 
 Are they a well-known, reputable organization for this subject?  After researching the organization, it seems like Tara West is the creator of this blog/organization. There are multiple social media accounts for the Little Minds at Work and her name is mentioned in almost all of them. 
 ACCURACY:
 Where did the information on the page come from? Did the sponsor/author of the page create the information? The author created the information/strategies/materials mentioned on the page. 
Are there cited sources or links to the original source of the information? No. 
Can you verify any of the information in other independent sources or from your own knowledge? I have used methods/activities similar to these in my PreK classes in the past and they were very effective. 
 PURPOSE: 
Is the page promoting something that might cause biases? Yes. The website is displaying the effectiveness of the materials the author created in the hopes that teachers will buy it. 
Is the information based on facts or is it opinion? If opinion, is it based upon logical thinking? Is the author using good evidence for their opinion? While the strategies used seem to be based on facts and tested teacher strategies, I do feel that the majority of the information is opinion related. The author created the materials, so of course they are going to show the “good side” of their product. 
 What is the purpose of the Web site sponsoring this page? I feel that the purpose of this website is to provide teachers with strategies and materials needed to teach their students. Given that the materials are created and used by other teachers, it may give teachers a sense of comfort knowing someone who is leading and actually teaching in a classroom and experiencing the same things they are created and tested the material first. 
Is the domain for the site a .org (an organization), .edu (an educational site), .gov (a federal government site), .mil (a military site), .com (a commercial site), .net (a web-sponsoring site), .TV (a television site)… to name the most well-known domains. Other domains describe state government sites (Texas government sites: state.tx.us) and sites from other countries that use the country abbreviation as the domain. The domain is .org, meaning that it is an organization.
