Final Journal
I will admit that as a student, I received a tremendous amount of information in a short amount of time.  Initially I was overwhelmed, mostly because I’d start playing around with new apps and resources and get off track so easily.  As the days progressed, I started to see it all fit together to create the Wakelet.  The different apps and websites, though, were meaningful to me and could certainly be used in class.

The first thing I am taking away is Wakelet.  I find it an easy way for students to gather and post information that I can easily access on my device.   It would be something that parents could access as well.  I have had my students create iMovies and such before, but getting it to me has often been blocked by the server because of size, so this is an excellent resource for this as well.

The next thing that I will take away is Thinglink.  Like Wakelet, this was easy to use and the interactiveness of the site would keep the students engaged.  I would like to use it as the introduction to a novel I read with my students, A Long Walk to Water.  While the one I prepared for class is usable, I plan to make it more interactive so that the students need to respond in some way.

Lastly, I cannot tell you how useful the information on copyright and such is.  As I read the articles, there were posters and handouts that could be printed or shared with students.  I already have these tagged and ready to distribute at the beginning of this school year when I discuss plagiarism.  This source taught me a few things that I just didn’t realize and gave me tons of resources for me and my students to find free photos and music.  Which reminds me – I also FINALLY learned how to add background music.  Thank you for that.  It has been on my to do list for a while, but I just never seem to have time.
