How do Immigrants navigate healthcare in the U.S. ?

Our health influences everything we do in life, that is why I am particularly interested in studying healthcare options for immigrants. I believe having affordable and reliable healthcare is a key component of a thriving society. Navigating the U.S. healthcare system is complicated, I can’t imagine what it would be like as an immigrant. I believe the American healthcare system is flawed and I am curious to find out what the experience is like for immigrants, not just finding insurance but also securing appropriate health services based on their needs. I am researching healthcare in Canada to shed some light on their universal healthcare system, I imagine Canada’s universal healthcare system is more inclusive and easier to access.
