AIDS- stands for aquired immune deficency syndrone it is caused by a retro virus HIV
HIV:  HIV (Human immunoDeficiency virus) is the virus or germ that causes AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). Acquired refers to getting infected with it, Immune Deficiency refers to a weakness in the body's system that fights diseases, whereas Syndrome refers to a group of health problems that make up a disease.
prevention: 
sexual contact with any an unknown person should be avoided 
transfusion of infected blood should be avoided , the blood donor should be tested HIV negative 
disposable needle and syringes should be used
common razors at the barbers shop should be avoided

treatment: currently there is no treatment for AIDS once you are diagonesd by this syndrome u can not get rid of it
