Research summary
Animal cloning is a controversial topic to say the least. Technological and scientific advances have allowed us to achieve the impossible, but as a relatively newer concept, cloning presents many differences of opinion. 
On one side, cloning could help us preserve endangered species or reintroduce extinct ones. It could help keep the memories of late pets alive or advance scientific breakthroughs in other fields. On the other side, however, many things about it are only good in theory. 
Again, cloning is a newer idea. This means that many things about it are underdeveloped or not always successful, leading to many defective outcomes. To name just a few, cloning has a history of creating abnormal pregnancies, long-term health issues, sterility issues, and reduction of genetic diversity. Even with modern science, cloning is usually unsuccessful and extremely expensive. 
When considering all aspects of this concept without bias towards one side or another, the cons seem to heavily outweigh the pros. Even though cloning could help us preserve species or memories of pets, the long-term effects of it are predominately negative. 
In conclusion, cloning is an idea that has limitless potential. The science that goes into it is genius, but needs much more development and research to be conducted in order for it to be successful.
