Redesigning the delivery of learning programmes for modern learners has been a goal of many projects. I was drawn the 21st Century Learning Design (21CLD) program. 
Created to provide a skills framework used to assist educators in delivering lessons which nurture modern skillsets required by learners. Based around a globally researched structure the 21CLD is designed around six rubrics. Each rubric demonstrates a key skill of importance to students and the goals of the modern curriculum:
Collaboration
Skilled communication
Knowledge construction
Self-regulation
Real-world problem-solving and innovation

From the extensive global research carried out by numerous research partners, the 21CLD program helps educators to create more innovative teaching practices becoming elements of every classroom practice. (Innovative Teaching and Learning Research, 2011) 
The 21CLD model has been incorporated into a Microsoft Educator program of learning, called the Student Teacher Education Program (STEP). Designed to help prepare pre-service teachers and/or teachers who are new to integrating technology to be successful in assisting students in preparing for their future by developing the skills identified through the six 21CLD rubrics. This empowers learners to be independent and creative.
The program also develops teachers with the skills and understanding of how to utilise technology more successfully. It focusses primarily on Microsoft educational technologies to help educators make themselves more innovative and effective.
