Of the many attempted Smash Bros. clones, this new effort by Warner Bros. lands closest to the chaotic clatterings that the Nintendo icon practically created - with some tight combat and enough bizarre MultiVersus character picks to make it incredibly interesting. Theres something particularly compelling about kicking the snot out of Adventure Times Jake the Dog as Game of Thrones Arya Stark, and it has so far made MultiVersus the most interesting party-fighter competitor yet. But, it looks like the game is far from done with its extensive roster of fighters, as a new MultiVersus character leak hints at some choice picks coming to the game next.Whos In The MultiVersus Character Leak?Click to enlargeA massive datamine has crept out from 4chan and revealed a huge swathe of new MultiVersus characters set to punch their way into the ring. 4chan might not be the most reputable of sources, but this lines up neatly with a lot of what weve heard before. According to this MultiVersus leak, there are about 23 characters that seem to be finished and ready to be implemented into the game (either for its official launch or shortly after). The interesting bit is those who have been found in the games files.These characters are Craig (whoever Craig is), Poison Ivy, Raven, Static, Black Adam and Joker (DC), Legolas and Gandalf (Lord of the Rings) Daenerys and The Hound (Game of Thrones), The Wicked Witch of the West (The Wizard of Oz) Emmet (presumably from Back to the Future), Eleven (Stranger Things), Beetlejuice, Godzilla, Ninja and Brute (who are thought to be original characters), and Scooby-Doo himself. Will There Be More MultiVersus Characters?Though these potential MultiVersus characters are without codenames - meaning that they could yet be removed or replaced at the developers discretion - there are a few waiting in the wings to be added to the game soon... perhaps even when the game officially releases. These characters are LeBron James and Marvin the Martian representing Space Jam, The Iron Giant, Rick and Morty, and Gizmo and Stripe from Gremlins.Its already a huge lineup of characters, but the MultiVersus leak suggests even more are on the way. Seeing Godzilla take on Pickle Rick means its perhaps the most bonkers character lineup since Mr Game & Watch joined Smash. Who knows - maybe the arrival of Rick & Morty could actually give the game a lot more pull. Heaven knows it deserves it. With the release of the MultiVersus closed alpha, the announcement of an open beta in July, and the eventual release of the game later this year, fans are still hungry for more information about just which combinations Warner Bros. Games and Player First Games will use to build out a roster for the platform fighter. The game is still scheduled to release in 2022 on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series XS, though no specific release window has been given. And, even with a live test featuring plenty of information available, we also dont have a full starting roster or details about how characters will be added to the game post-launch. MultiVersus is a free-to-play title that puts an emphasis on teamwork and a two-on-two format, with full cross-play, cross-progression, and rollback netcode set to be included at launch. And outside of that, all we know is what is included in the available test builds of the game—until you take into account the data pulled from within them. Over the last several months a slew of datamines from the files pulled from various tests or previous builds that were obtained by leakers has given us a better look at what the games final roster will look like, or at least several characters that could join the likes of Superman and Bugs Bunny at some point in the future. Here are all of the characters who have been confirmed for MultiVersus, along with the fighters that may be coming based on data pulled from the leaks. Just be aware that none of the leaked characters have been confirmed and could end up absent from the final product. According to multiple pieces of data, Naruto could be appearing in the game based on file names and some visuals, but placeholder data for an original ninja character was also included in the games codes. Speculation points to this being a backup in case licensing for Naruto may have fallen through, but we will need to wait on confirmation to know for sure. Additionally, Wreck-It Ralph or Fix-It Felix from Disneys Wreck-It Ralph movie series were found in the datamine, along with another original fighter named Brute. Brute seems to be a placeholder similar to the original Ninja fighter, and references Hulk several times, meaning Disneys Incredible Hulk may be included, too. There are also rumors that Ted Lasso, Eleven from Stranger Things, The Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, and the Duck Dodgers version of Daffy Duck could be added too, though these are less conclusive according to datamines.
