To create the Meka's "design on paper", we first tried to understand what a real killer robot should look like. Your guess was as good as ours. Then, we tried to measure how heavy a robot should be to be able to carry a human out of danger, and still be controllable. And we feel that weighting 60kg is ideal for stealth, agility, and aiming.
The final step in designing and building the Meka was deciding on its robust and durable powerplants, and reliable way of ingress and egress. Enter -- the "HoneycombChamber".
The Honeycomb Chamber is a very compact, efficient machine that creates minimum to no air resistance while ventilating without drawing in other than positive air. Air is sucked in through the bottom of the robot, and forced upwards through multiple layers of comb-shaped holes. The air is then expelled through the top of the robot, creating a vacuum and thus a forced exit. It is an airfoil design with only the edge surfaces contacting the wall. This helps to reduce air resistance and keeps the robot light. It also helps to reduce the air intake, thus it eliminates the efficiency hit that would come with having double the intake.
The mechanism that rotates the air intake and air exit is belt-driven, and added with a 1:1 speed reduction reduction drive from the wheel-bearing hub. This design is made using common engineering practices.
