Citizens Advice - They are a charity that support Scottish citizens on their consumer problems. They provide expert knowledge on issues like management and fundraising. They have resources ranging from IT tools too running campaigns. They also provide expert training to support advice being given. They look at problems provided to their advice services and campaign for change where they need too, many people trust them to give advice and campaign for their rights so they make sure they win campaigns on behalf of the consumers. For example they win extra funds for people hit hardest by welfare reform, they also get energy suppliers to cut their tariffs and improve their customer services. Which? - They have been campaigning on behalf of consumers since 1957, asking probing questions of businesses and manufacturers and pursuing the answers that put the consumer first. They test goods and services and publishing the results and they campaign to encourage companies to change their practices. They have more than 1.3 million members and supporters which makes them the largest independent consumer body in the UK. They are completely independent which means they have no owners, stakeholders or government departments to answer too, so you will never see adverts on their websites. Their goal is to make the consumer as powerful as the organisations that they deal with in their daily lives, their advice helps consumers make decisions; their campaigns tackle consumer detriment to make everyone's lives fairer, more simpler and safer. Ombudsman service - They are an approachable, helpful and human voice for consumers, they are people that consumers and small businesses can turn to for advice and a solution that's fair. They are approved by Ofgem (the UK gas and electricity regulator) they independently handle issues between the consumer and energy suppliers. They are approved the review a range of complaints such as billing, customer service, switching suppliers, loss of service and sales. Their services are free to consumers and is funded by the fee a company that is signed up to the scheme pays to have each complaint reviewed.
