Week 17 of First Grade

Monday, January 4, 2021 - Friday, January 8, 2021 WELCOME BACK FRIENDS and HAPPY NEW YEAR! In ELA we will begin Journey's Lesson 12 and read the folktale "How The Leopard Got His Spots". We will learn and practice spelling, reading and saying words with the digraph ch. We will be able to identify and write command sentences. In Math we will continue to RDW (read, draw and write) to solve addition and subtraction word problems to 20. We will break apart numbers as a ten and some ones. In Science we are starting to talk about light. We will observe light and identify light sources. We will talk about matter and how light travels through different materials. In Social Studies we will continue with lessons from our Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Initiative through the BPS. We will begin with the Emancipation Curriculum lessons.
