Goal #1 - Promote the school library
There are several ideas I have to promote my school library. The first is to showcase the books we currently have. My plan is to dedicate an area to display books on a current topic. An example of this would be in September we would celebrate Hispanic Heritage month and books that have ties to this topic would be displayed. Every month we would display books on different topics.
I would also inform students of new books by making little posters of the books with information about the book and will display those throughout the school in public places. Places like restrooms, lunchrooms, by drinking fountains, and in hallways.
I will also use Facebook and Twitter to share the happenings of the library with the public. Parents love to see what their kids are doing during the day and this would be a way for me to get out what we are doing to the public. Taking pictures and videos of book talks, students using makerspace activities, and different library activities would be enjoyed by many.
