Tech tools used as a substitution for traditional paper and pencil-type tools. The function of the tasks do not change, just the tools.

Tech tools used to augment/enhance instruction require more student-choice, thinking, and processing.

Tech tools that actually modify the instructional process rely on students to direct more of their own learning and therefore are less teacher-directed. Higher-order thinking skills are infused and/or required.

Tools that redefine instruction result in products and learning that would not be possible without technology. Task are student-directed and require Bloom's highest levels of thinking.
