The price for Adobe Photoshop CS is around $650, whereas the price for PSE is free. Adobe Photoshop CS is also a full, stand-alone program, whereas PSE is only a downloadable version. Elements is great for creating basic images and graphics, whereas Photoshop is geared more toward more advanced editing.
When I start on a new project, Photoshop is my go-to program. I have too many clients who need to create any sort of image for their Web sites, e-mail campaigns, advertisements, logos, or other projects that require images. Elements also comes in handy when I want to create images without design. Photoshop Elements doesn't require additional costs for a subscription, or for any other kind of upgrade.
As an example, when creating logos for an advertising company that sells direct to small businesses, I have the clients explain to me what they want and then I give them my version. The concept would always remain the same, but I've found that if they use Elements, they can create something that can be easily modified and applied to the company's Web site, or if it's an e-mail campaign, they can use it to create something that looks good.

So, let's see how to install Photoshop Elements 2020 on Ubuntu or Linux Mint and get to work.
How to Install Photoshop Elements on Linux (Ubuntu & Mint)
Step 1: Install GIMP
GIMP is the free, and open source, alternative to Photoshop for people on Linux. You can use it for many tasks including photo retouching. It contains all the features that you could expect from Photoshop, with little effort.
To install it, open the terminal and run this command:
$ sudo apt install gimp
Step 2: Install Windows Codecs
If you have a Windows computer and you want to install Photoshop Elements, you will need to install the missing codecs. It's a necessary step for most Linux users.
To do that, we'll go to the Ubuntu Software Center. Then, launch this app and install all the codecs. The resulting list of codecs will be stored in a text file called.deb.
To see the contents of that file, use this command:
$ cat.deb
The resulting file should look like the one shown in the picture.
Step 3: Create a New Account
To create a new user on Linux, you will need a username and a password to login into the computer.
To do that, launch the system's user manager with this command:
$ sudo adduser 
After a few minutes, your new user will be created and you will be asked to create a password for that account.
To create a password for this account, run this command:
$ sudo passwd 
and replace  with your user's name.
Then, type the new password.
Step 4: Create a New Document
Create a new photo file (that is, a new document) and name it for the new user you just created.
To do that, navigate to your home folder with this command:
$ cd ~
Then, open the newly created photo file with this command:
$ gimp.
Click the New button and then choose Photo.
The result of these steps should be a new Photoshop document with the same name of the file you chose.
After that, go to the File menu and choose Open.
Choose New for your image's format and save it.
