History
The first version of AutoCAD was developed for the Apple II and DOS PC platforms in 1982. The first version was released in December of that year, and shipped with only the DXF file format. At that time, the founders of Autodesk bought a controlling interest of Imagineering in AutoCAD.

AutoCAD LT has its own internal DYNA3D engine called Dyna3D which was developed at Autodesk to allow the software to have full 3D functionality from the first release, and support 3D parametric/numeric-based, parametric/spiral, and 3D SOLID, surface, and solid modelling.
