🌼 What is User Interface? 🌼
In the industrial design field of human-computer interaction, the user interface is the space where interactions between humans and machines occur.
Types of User Interface :
☘️ Command Line Interface
allow the user to interact with the computer system
the user typing in command then the computer executes the commands and provides textual output
advantage: much faster than any other type of interface, need much less memory, does not use much CPU
disadvantage: can be very confusing, the command will fail when there is an error, need to learn a large number of commands
☘️ Menu Driven Interface
allow the user to interact with a computer or device by working user way through a series of screens or menus
advantage: easy to use, no need to learn or remember commands, no need for huge amounts of processing power or memory
disadvantage: poorly designed menu interface may be slow to use, can be irritating if there are too many menu screens to work though, can take up a large part of the screen
☘️ Graphical User Interface
a very friendly way for people to interact with the computer because it makes use of pictures, graphics, and icons
advantage: easy to explore and find ways around the system, no need to learn complicated commands, easy to use especially for beginner
disadvantage: take up a larger amount of hard disk space, use more processing power, slow for experienced programmers to use
☘️ Natural Language Interface
allow the user to speak or type in their everyday language to interact with the computer
advantage: the user does not need to be trained in how to use the interface, more flexibility than a dialogue interface, suitable for physically handicapped people
disadvantage: the interface can only respond to commands that have been programmed, not widely available as other forms of interface
