- Note: Flaps is network monitoring and SNMP v3 requires IP address and not the MAC address, MAC address is used for MAC table maintenance.
- Note: Flaps will not send SNMP Traps on UDP port 161 when FlapTrapDeviceID is non-zero.
- Note: Flaps does not perform DNS resolution on UDP port 53.
- Note: Flaps does not perform SNMP DNS resolution on UDP port 53.
- Note: SNMP v2c is not supported.

- Note: SNMP v3 has the ability to transmit and receive UDP GET with or without community string. The community string identifies a community string and v3 receivers will expect a community string to support our needs. The community string can have the format W.1.0.0.1/W.1.0.0.2. This community string will be used as “W” so that Flapsv3 receives a community string of “W”. v3 receivers will expect “W.1.0.0.1/W.1.0.0.2.

Installation
Install Flaps from source (via Git or ZIP)
To install Flaps open the package file you have just downloaded and double click on the install.sh icon.
Usage
Flaps will alert you via email or SMS when the MAC address table has changed.
Flaps has the following specific options in case you need to monitor a certain type of connection.
