It’s time to start updating our classroom libraries! While there are beautiful, timeless books out there that we need to hang onto, not all books are created equal. As we think about the books we are putting in the hands of kids, we need to be asking: - is it relevant and appealing to our students? - is it representative of the kids in our class and their family dynamics? - does it have underlying bias we need to be aware of? - will our students want to read it? I'm joining the #classroombookaday challenge, and I'm on the lookout for 180 books that I will be reading aloud this year! What are your favorites?
