This year's Beyond Babel Multilingual Film Festival 2018 lasted 3 days with a different film each day as we took into account your suggestions from last year.

The first day of the festival took place on 6th February 2018 and we screened the film Né quelque part (Homeland).

Also known as Homeland, Né quelque part is the story of Farid, a law student in France who is forced to travel for the first time to Algeria, his father's homeland. Described by the Hollywood Reporter as a "reverse immigrant comedy", the film is a voyage of discovery, of family reunions and reflection on personal sacrifice.

The free screening featured a Q&A led by Manchester Metropolitan University's Isabelle Vanderschelden.
