Happy October, Wildcat families!

What a wonderful start-up! Throughout the school classes built community and established routines to begin the growth and learning that will take place over this school year. Thank you for being so supportive in ensuring a successful start to the 24/25 school year! Your children are cared for and supported each and every day.

Last school year, with input from students and staff, we built this statement that we will work towards every day: AK Wigg is a caring community that strives to create supportive, welcoming spaces for each of us to learn, grow and become our best selves.

During September, we had our Terry Fox walk, Rowan's Law day and Orange shirt day (National day for Truth and Reconciliation). Cross-country, Co-ed Soccer and Student Leadership Team also started! Thank you to the many staff who volunteer their time to provide extra-curricular opportunities for kids.

This week we will celebrate "World Teacher's Day" and I can't thank the educators at our school and throughout the DSBN enough for the work they do every day in service of kids. We strive to create a supportive, kind, and welcoming learning environment.

If I can support you in any way, please feel free to email or call the school. I spend as much time as I can working with children throughout the school. I will respond when possible. Starting with your child's teacher is always recommended.
