Short Stories, Big Impact: YA Short Story Anthologies

Now is an especially great time in publishing for young adult short story anthologies! More interesting, original, and engaging anthologies are published than ever before and more are coming. This list is made up of more recent titles (the oldest title is from 2015) that are all still in print and are fiction anthologies. These anthologies are perfect for teen readers who are looking for a quick read or those who are emerging readers and might struggle with longer books. They are also a good way to help teens find what genres or authors they might be interested in - sort of like a taste-test for books! They are also a way for teens to try NEW genres outside of the ones they are very familiar with, a teen who might only read realistic fiction might be willing to try at least a short story in fantasy. Short story collections are also a great way to encourage teachers to introduce and teach young adult literature in the classroom.
