Body image and the Adolescent

This collection presents social media impact on the well being of teens. In today's society, social media has become a pastime, a means of gaining information, and a form of self-validation. Due to the increase in dopamine levels when receiving "likes," positive comments on a post, or just hearing a notification ping, teens are becoming increasing reliant on social media. They are also submitting to added pressures in their day to day lives. When putting together the collection, we wanted to show the pressures endured, how media outlets can enforce both positive and negative images. At the end, we find ways society can support teens who are affected by media adversely.
