The What and Why of Social and Emotional Learning.
Social and Emotional learning can be defined as the process of learning of interpersonal skills and intrapersonal skills as children develop is critical life skills to become healthy and thriving individuals in their personal lives, workplace, and community (Campos, D. 2021). All learning has social and emotional factors that influence behaviors and the ability to process information.   There is a growing consensus in the educational field about the positive results being seen when schools include emotional intelligence lessons in the curriculum for students. The rapidly changing classroom dynamics and pressure of living in digital age of technology will require teaching critical thinking skills that equip students to handle complex communication and social issues. Students and teachers need tools to help better understand and navigate the interpersonal challenges and handle diverse social situations, both in school and at home.
