DEAR READER, 
The character that I followed throughout the novel was Kamibi. I chose this character because She's not really complex but she did wanted to grow and  express the worlds she have in mind. The book's beginning shows Eugene breaking Beatrice's figurines because Jaja didn't service two Sundays in a row. Kamibi was surprised that nobody didn't make a big deal out of it, but she didn't say anything. Another day, another household for Kamibi and Jaja. Well, the life and the lifestyle of Aunty Ifeoma's house are a lot less strict and more linear. However, it seems like Kambili can't open up to other people even when they former relationship with her. As can Kambili and Jaja went back home to morn Eugene. They figured out that the cause of death was Beatrice poisoning Eugene. Still, she didn't say much about it first. She didn't use many words at all, but physical altercation. The passages from the novel that I felt demonstrate her development were:
“He picked up the missal and flung it across the room, toward Jaja. It missed Jaja completely, but it hit the glass étagerè…” (Page 7)
“Why were they acting so normal, Jaja and Mama, as if they did not know what had just happened? And why was Papa drinking his tea quietly, as if Jaja had not just talked back to him?” (Page 8)
“I wished she had said ‘Uncle Eugene’ instead of ‘your father.’ She did not even look at me as
she spoke. I felt, looking at her, that I was helplessly watching precious flaxen sand slip away between my fingers.” (Page 47)
“I nodded in time to the chorus. We really did not need the music, though, because his voice was melody enough. I felt that I was at home, that I was where I had been meant to be for a long time. Father Amadi sang for a while; then he lowered the volume to a whisper again. “You haven’t asked me a single question,” he said. “I don’t know what to ask.” (Page 88)
"'God knows best,' I said. 'God works in mysterious ways.' And I thought how Papa would be proud that I had said that, how he would approve of my saying that." (Page 137)
"When she spoke, her voice was just as calm and slow. 'I started putting the poison in his tea before I came to Nsukka. Sisi got it for me; her uncle is a powerful witch doctor.' For a long, silent moment I could think of nothing. My mind was blank, I was blank...I stood up and shook her until Jaja yanked me away" (Page 138)
