Social interaction is highly important, something which social media affects. Harvard conducted a study in which they tried to see if use of social media affected mental health and social interactions in real-life. They mostly used Facebook to conduct their studies, in which it was mostly negative when tested against positive mental health, well-being and social interactions. The study concluded that even though social media apps are making their place in society, they aren't a substitution for real world interactions needed for a healthy and maintained life.
