3. **Optionally, save the file to your computer's desktop**.
A Photoshop file is named after its creation date. For example, if you create a file today, it's likely named 10.00.psd (rather than 02.00.psd), where 00 is the time you created the file.
  4. **Open your image in Photoshop. Choose File** ⇒ **Open**. In the Open dialog box, navigate to the Photoshop file where you stored the picture you want to work on. In the dialog box, click **Open**.
You may see a thumbnail of your image open in the left panel. If not, you need to refresh your image in your hard drive. Choose File ⇒ Reload or press the Ctrl+R keyboard shortcut.
  5. **Select Image** ⇒ **Image Size**. An Image Size dialog box opens. You can use this dialog box to determine the proportions and position of the image for printing, including determining the size of the finished print. Choose one of the settings shown in Figure 5-3.
For a professional-quality print, use the highest setting available. For a print that's for friends or relatives, use the next-highest setting. If you're not sure which size is best, check with a print shop.
  6. **Click OK and choose File** ⇒ **Save**. In the Save As dialog box, navigate to the folder where you want to store your image, select the name for the file, and click **Save**. The photo you just created now appears in your hard drive.
