The alleged assault happened at a Vermont college on Sunday, when a 19-year-old student walked into the Jewish student's residence hall room.
A student body president, who is Jewish and was in the room at the time, was also assaulted.
Another video apparently filmed at the same location has surfaced, showing the moment when the student who attacked the Jewish student was arrested.
Police have identified the attacker and the victim who was assaulted.
The victim has been hospitalized, and is out of danger, according to a hospital spokesperson.
In the second video, posted by a local Democratic party politician, a college student is seen talking to a police officer.
"I love America," he tells the officer. "I'm proud to be an American."
The officer replies: "The ones who did this you can't be proud to be an American."
"Why? It's a free country," the student argues.
The video was posted on Facebook, with the comment, "I am ashamed that we live in a country where something like this could happen at a campus! The hate in this country is at an all-time high! I'm disgusted!"
However, police told Vice the man was also arrested and then released on bail after a mental health evaluation. He is due back in court for
