The Arts and Crafts Movement

In this collection I aim to explain some of the history of furniture making at the turn of the 19th century, that would later go on to influnce the craft and other trades, widely known as 'The Arts and Crafts Movement' which spanned from approximately the 1850's - 1910's. We will also look at how the movements ideals went on to inspire other industries, and how manufacturing techniques changed over the past 100 years and what effect this had on the crafts of designing and making furniture.
