The opening of the English version of the letter reads:

Dear Canadian Research Funding Agencies,

As a collective group of people conducting research in Canada in the humanities, social sciences, health research, natural sciences, and engineering, we are writing to you to express our sincere conviction that it is time to abandon the Canadian Common CV (CCV) and move to a simpler solution.

Why abandon the CCV

The CCV was a reasonable idea. However, in the decades since its inception, the idea has proved impossible to implement in a reasonable way. The CCV is bad for applicants, collaborators, reviewers, institutions, Canadian taxpayers, and you. We detail each of these points below and offer three viable alternatives.
