Seating Arrangement
A classroom should be the center of a students education. It should be the base and foundation. Seating your students to benefit not only them but the teacher should be top priority. 
The teacher should think of the students movement during the different instructional activities conducted in the classroom. And the distance between you and the farthest pupil should be minimized as much as possible.
Below is well designed picture of different seating arrangements. My preferred seating arrangement would be either number 1, pairs or number 4, Groups of four . However it should be noted that seating arrangement in the class should be flexible and easily changeable.
Pairs and groups of four
Benefits:
Individuality is embraces by giving the student freedom 
Research suggests that students need 2-4 feet of personal space in order to feel satisfactorily uncrowded and get the most out of their learning environment. 
Easier for group activities / learning for 2 - 4 students 
Split up students with same learning method or different learning methods
Focused on the front of the classroom.
Creates space for walking, for both the teacher and students.

Challenges:
Makes student collaboration more difficult due to the back-to-front design and desks being spread evenly apart
Presentation / Stadium
Benefits
Allows the teacher to see what all the students are doing because of how the seating is arranged
Gives a clear view of the teacher and the board / TV / screen
By condensing the seating, it inadvertently creates more floor space
Allows students to work collaboratively with their partners next to them. 
Challenges
 With too many students it may place students too far from the front of the room 
It becomes tougher to enforce students after two rows
Less suitable for group tasks, so students aren't motivated to work together.
U-shape / Horse shoe
Benefits
Great for discussions and debates as students can easily engage with each other
The focus is directed towards one area and all the students can see it equally, 
Allows the teacher to see all students 
Challenges
 Not possible in a smaller classroom as it uses too much space
It decreases the chance to have smaller group tasks as the seating hinders it. 
May be hard to police students when facing one way
Computer combination
Benefits
Gives an overview of students behavior and a view on their screens
Creates a good flow for students to differentiate their teaching methods from the desk to the computers
Doesn't have to be computers, as Ipads or tablets will work too
Could even switch the computers out for seats with books
Challenges 
It hinders movement as it takes a lot of space
Not all schools has the budget for extra technology

Each seating arrangement has its benefits and challenges. Its the responsibility of the teacher to establish which one would be best for their students.
